The Boys Down MAN UP Movement

Boys Down, “MAN UP” is a movement to guide boys into manhood. The book and website  is an idea that I have been working on throughout years of observing the changes in males in today’s society and noticing that their behavior is getting increasingly worse.  The idea comes from the sheer desire to acknowledge and bring to the fore front the importance of developing our young males and grown males alike to be less of mommas boys, bad boys, cry babies, players (or wanna be players), addicts, and male bitches in general.  BUT to strive for them to be a better role model and most importantly a REAL MAN.  To help set standards for our daughters, mothers, girlfriends, cousins, and sisters to learn and live by what they should look for in a real man, to know when to run or cut the “boy” loose, and to help them raise real men.  I have developed a modern comMANdment of men, which is listed in the book and believe if followed throughout a male’s life; he will increase his likelihood of becoming a real man. Newsweek (9/21/02010) wrote a story on the topic, not saying we agree totally with the complete article but it does touch on some interesting topics, proving once again this is a compelling and relevant subject for all.

Many …many times we have been approached by friends and strangers alike, both single moms and dads that are amazed and at a loss of what to do with the behavior of their sons and daughters that are out of control. Having daughters ourselves, we also experience astonishing behavior patterns that seem to be popping up in their male and female friends.  There is a forgotten “real man” behavior that is no longer being taught to our boys, as well as a lack of male role models to teach it. In addition, women no longer recognize what acceptable behavior from a male is. We believe society is craving a “MANUP” change.  Due to women’s lib and the media, women are being brainwashed and taught not to respect men and boys are developing into male bitches instead men.

The objective of this book would be to:

• Identify the division between men and women
• Create a road map for the journey into man hood (The comMANmendments of men)
• Help women to recognize, produce, and learn how to appreciate a “real man”.
• Diagnose the reasons behind spoiled, weak, and egocentric males.
• Decipher how the media and feminist stereo type males in movies, music videos, television, magazines, and the internet as weak, sex craved, violent buffoons. A good example is shows like Sex in The City, Jersey Shore, Bad Girls Club, The Kardashians, 16 and Pregnant and The Real Housewives reality shows.
• Explain how the media and feminist polarizes women against men leading us to believe that all women want is money, fame, beauty, shoes, big houses, and great sex and all they need from men is for them to  pay her bills, be rich, be good looking, and give her the best orgasm EVER.

No longer does it seem important for men to contribute leadership, respect, guidance, morals, stability, and security. The focus has been misplaced; this is why women are always complaining about “where have all the good men gone?” Males are seeing a shallower woman and behaving accordingly. Males are becoming more feminine and females are becoming more masculine, MAN UP !
